Sumacab ES adjudged Champion in Parol Making Contest

Earning an average of 97.6% or an accumulated score of 488 from 5 members of the Board of Judges, Sumacab Elementary School pocketed the 5-thousand-peso cash prize in the Parol Making Contest sponsored by Rotary Club of Cabanatuan West, December 16 at the Teachers Hall.
Copping the first runner-up with an average score of 94.2% is the entry of Lazaro Francisco Elementary School while Camp Tinio Elementary School ranked second runner-up with an average score of 93.4%.
In a conversation with an LFES teacher who happened to be in the area while the judging was going on, it was learned that the entry of LFES was a two-time champion in the school level contest in lantern competition.
The first runner-up will get P3,000.00 and the second runner-up will be awarded P1,500.00 said Rotarian Tirso Verde who was one of the judges.
Verde also added that the first place winner got the unanimous nods of the judges for the creativity and ingenuity of the maker in using indigenous materials. The Christmas lantern which was made of coconut husks and wild grass flowers was crafted by Elaine Simeon with her coaches Mr. Arnel M. Gamit and Mrs. Evelyn M. Ferry.
“T’yak matutuwa si Sir Badong [School Principal Salvador Nagaño] nito. May pandagdag na sila sa Christmas Party nila" ended Mr. Verde.
The other judges are Rotarians Fredzlander M. Villegas, Frederico Jugo, Romeo A. Yap and ES-I in Science Romeo R. Hipolito.
